Today at work, I was re-orged. My manager and one guy on the team are leaving for a different team. Another guy on my team is new manager. This will be interesting. Last January they asked every one on our team who was interested in managing. I, and the other senior dev both said no. We wanted to stay technical. The only guy who wanted to manage is just 3 years out of college-- now he's the manager.

It should be ok. At my level, I decide what to do and use my manager for policital clout when I need help from other teams. So, a change in management shouldn't affect my day to day job.
