I'm not homesick for Toronto. It's more like nostaglia. While Toronto is a great city, that's all you get. It literally takes hours to get out of the city.
In Seattle, the mountains and skiing are an hour away. The Ocean is an hour the other way. Portland and Vancouver are 3 hours away. So, there is a great variety of things to do, urban and rural.
On top of that, If I moved back to Toronto, I would have to live way out in the suburbs. Toronto downtown is beautiful and expensive. The affordabile suburbs are ugly and way out.
I can handle the suburbs in Seattle because I have a log cabin on a greenbelt and because downtown Seattle is a 20 minute drive away. If my home were in Toronto, it would be worth well over a million dollars.
