Lately, my posts have been a dump of facts.
Tommy’s post has me thinking… https://bricks-on-the-red.blogspot.com/2025/12/thinking-of-future-and-good-thoughts-of.html?m=1
What is the end game of this blog? I don’t have many readers. It certainly earns no money. So why write?
I’ve always kept a journal, then 25 years ago blogs became a thing. I was deeply involved in the dot com bubble at that point and thought why not? I moved my journaling online and in a fit of madness made it public. Now we are here.
Why continue?
First, to write. It helps me collect and clarify my thoughts. It also helps me remember. These are all good reasons.
Also, I’ve found a few readers over the years, other bloggers really. Staying in touch with them is worth it.
It is disconcerting when a blogger stops writing. It’s like an old acquaintance has just vanished. I can’t blame them for not keeping on, but a good bye would be nice.

I agree with you about the reasons we often Blog. I've found it had more Positives to it than I imagined it would. My Grandson talked me into a Blog and set it up for me when he was 9, he's a Genius Child 148 IQ and translated it into 50 Languages coz he said I was getting quite an International readership! *LOL* I find it to be a good Therapy, great for a Social Outlet since I'm a full time Caregiver of my Spouse, so don't get out as much to meet and Social anymore. The Grandson is now 25 and I'm grateful to him for getting me involved with the Blog Community. I miss those Bloggers who are no longer in The Land Of Blog, and it is better to get Closure as to why they're gone or their Blogs get taken down. I'll probably Blog as long as it's out here for us to do, it replaced Letter Writing for me, and indulges my passions for Writing and for Photography. Keep on Keeping on, I'd do it whether anyone had ever found and read it, bonus when and if they do.
It is self-fulfilling; it gives me a place to express myself and sometimes receive feedback from others. It fights isolation when you can express yourself, and others comment. Isolation is one of the main concerns here.
